The Future Pathway Program is a youth development initiative designed to help secondary school students discover their potential, build confidence, and prepare for future opportunities in education, leadership, and career development.

The program provides mentorship, career guidance, leadership training, and practical learning experiences that equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

At its core, the Future Pathway Program exists to help secondary school students gain clarity about their future and develop the confidence to pursue their goals with purpose.

About the Program

The Future Pathway Program (FPP) is PATHE Initiative's flagship university and career readiness program, created to bridge the gap between secondary education and higher education by equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and guidance they need to make informed decisions about their future.

Many young people have the potential to succeed but lack access to the information, mentorship, and opportunities that can shape their educational and career journeys. The Future Pathway Program addresses this challenge by creating a supportive learning environment where students can explore their interests, discover new possibilities, and develop the confidence to pursue their aspirations.

Through a blend of interactive classes, career talks, mentorship, project-based learning, and exposure to professionals from diverse fields, participants gain valuable insights into higher education, career pathways, scholarship opportunities, and the competencies required to thrive in today's rapidly changing world. The program also equips students with essential life and future-ready skills, including critical thinking, communication, research, collaboration, leadership, digital literacy, and responsible use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Beyond academics, the Future Pathway Program is committed to nurturing personal growth. Students are encouraged to cultivate a growth mindset, build resilience, strengthen their self-confidence, and develop the curiosity and determination needed to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful goals. What the Program Offers

• An inspiring university-style course, taught by NYSC Corpers through a series of seven tutorials, culminating in a challenging final assignment.
• A chance to build the knowledge, skills and confidence to apply to the most competitive universities.
• The opportunity to learn about higher education and life at university at a Graduation Event.

How are Students Supported?

For some students, the only doctor they may have ever met is in a medical setting, but our programme opens up the world of academic research and gives young people the opportunity to study university-level work in an accessible way.

Our tutors are recruited from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with a range of disciplines covering STEM, arts and humanities and social sciences.

Each student receives a course workbook to support them through the programme and also gains access to our online portal for learning support.

How Does It Work?

Once onboarded as a Tutor, you provide your availability before each school term. The PATHE Team will then place you in a school where you will teach a small group of students weekly.
